Club Notes 2010

16/08/10 SENIOR GAELIC: The Senior gaelic team lost to St Johns on Saturday evening last. Our lads put in a huge effort and were level with Johns at half time. In the second half Calry got themselves two points ahead but an injury to Fiachra Coyne turned the game as St Johns started to find more space up front and get the scores on the board and ran out winners by 7 points. The Senior team now play Curry on the 28th or 29th August.
JUNIOR: Our Junior team are down to play Eastern Harps
this Sunday 22nd
at 12pm in Coola in the quarter final of Junior B Championship. Best
of luck to the lads.
MINOR : Well done to our Minor team who had a hard fought win over
Drumcliffe/Rosses Point
last Thursday in Hazelwood. Our lads showed a lot of heart
against a very good Drumcliffe team with Calry winning by 4 points
at the end.
LADIES: Calry Ladies began their Championship campaign with a well
deserved draw against Eoghan Rua in Hazelwood on
Sunday last,
August 15th. The
away side began well, however an Emer Lindsay free settled Calry. Eoghan
Rua began to assert themselves on the game , and a goal had them
eight points ahead Another goal before half time had Eoghan Rua
well in charge, but a Deirdre Quinn goal and a point from Clodagh
Watters before the interval reduced the defecit to just five points,
with Eoghan Rua leading by 2-7 to 1-5. In the second half, Calry
began brightly, and points from Sarah Melvin, Aoife Nicholson and
Clodagh Watters had Calry ahead. The visitors rallied late on, and
some good scores had them ahead again. Calry lead late on through an
Emer Lindsay free, but the visitors responded with an equalising
score to leave the match level at full time. Final score : Calry
St. Joseph's 1-15, Eoghan Rua 2-12. Calry Team : W.Feeney, R.Walsh,
S.White, H.Mc Gurrin, N.Hynes, A.Mc Dermott, E.Griffin, S.Scanlon,
